The Road

Can you say "Disturbing?"  Disturbing.  Yes, that is the word for this book.  This book is short and well, not so sweet.  I can sum up the story for you very quickly:

The earth has been destroyed
"Man" lives to take care of his "boy"
Man and boy scavenge for food
Man and boy hide from bad guys
Something that I can not tell you . . .
The End

Read it if you are in to dark and disturbing things such as: cannibalism and man's turmoil over possibly being forced to take both the boy and his life with his last two bullets.  If you are like me and you can't stop thinking about things like that then don't read it.

I am NOT going to watch the movie.

  1. You didn't like it? I LOVED it. I made my husband read it. And my brother-in-law, and my other brother-in-law, and my brother-in-law's girlfriend...

It was dark. So I don't know why I liked it so much, but I did. And, yes, for days after, I felt like I was living in "their" world, which was weird, but I've come to expect taking on the life of those I read about. I just have to quickly find another book (a light, fluffy, romantic one) to delve into. I have to alternate heavy reading with light. Otherwise I might be crushed.

  2. Yeah, I have no interest. It looks too bleak for me.

  5. Then it's not for me...dark imagery never leaves my head, and upsets me for a long time to come.
